I'm Jo (no pronouns) and I'm here to be a Doula For All.
I am committed to provide all people and bodies a mindful support as a doula. It is also a political concern of mine that all people who wish for doula support are able to get one. I accompany people in Vienna and the district Mödling through the experience of pregnancy, birth, the postpartum period and an abortion.
I am here to support you just like
you wish for it.

Hello! How nice that you are here.
WHAT
IS A
DOULA?
As a doula, I accompany you as a trained confidant through your experience of pregnancy, birth, the postpartum period and an abortion.
In my work, I support you emotionally and physically. Your wishes, your pace and a mutual consensus are the basic requirements.
I listen to you actively and create a space in which your concerns are important. If you want, we can also find out together how you are feeling and what you need.
I also accompany you physically through soothing touch, breathing together, meditation, hugging, holding and dancing. As a doula, I offer you a relationship in which you are supported in the way you need it. A relationship in which your needs are the focus. I am there, I give you support and I walk with you on your path.
As a doula, I am not a medical professional and do not give medical information or advice. I provide you with evidence-based sources of information that you need to make informed decisions. I also offer you contacts to various specialists that I or colleagues recommend. I do not replace the valuable work of midwives or gynecologists and therefore I do not accompany solo births. I am additionally there and am happy to help you to find the right specialists for you. This way we can put together a support team to meet your needs on all levels.
AND DOES THAT REALLY WORK?
Yes! The effect of the presence of a doula has been scientifically investigated for decades and the studies clearly and extensively show the positive effect of doula support.
If a person receives continuous and intensive emotional support during birth, the birth will last shorter, interventions, painkillers, episiotomies and caesarean sections are less common. Same as postpartum depression and breastfeeding problems during the postpartum period.
